Aliens Vs. Predator – Activision (1994)

I actually never owned the Atari Jaguar but my brother did so I was able to play a bunch of its games. For being a 64-Bit system most of the stuff he bought or rented wasn’t the best quality. The one major exception to this was Aliens Vs. Predator. This was such a great game and totally blew away Doom, which I was currently playing on my PC. Aliens Vs. Predator was one of the first games that actually scared me.

When starting the game you have the choice to play as a Marine, an Alien or a Predator. And just so there is no confusion your choice really matters as they are not cookie cutters of each other. Doom – id Software (1994)

With the release of Doom 3 for the PC I felt it was the perfect time to take a look at Doom on the consoles.  My first decision was what console would I review Doom for as it has appeared on the SNES, 3DO, 32X and the Atari Jaguar.  This wasn’t a hard decision as I just asked myself “well, what system had the best version of Doom?” and the only choice was the Jaguar.  So here we go.

Doom on the PC was fantastic and I am sure every true gamer has played it.  If for some reason you haven’t then let me set it up for you quick. Many people have been sent to mars but none have returned. You are a space marine and have been sent to mars to find out what happened to them.
